Cannabis

We wanted to share some insight in to cannabis grows that you may find interesting.

Cannabis, a class B drug that seems to be everywhere.  Thought as by harmless by some it often has links to organised crime and can be a gateway drug for teenagers to try harder drugs that end up running lives.

Coming from a plant it can be grown pretty much anywhere and we often find organised crime groups converting entire residential properties so that can turnover hundreds of thousands of pounds. This also promotes violence and intimidation into our neighbourhoods!

To Take down the farms we need to know where they are, and this is where you come in. if you are suspicious of a grow call in to us on 101, complete an online submission or use the live chat.

If you are worried about negative repercussions, then report via crime stoppers Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously.

Signs of a cannabis grow:

  • Has the electricity on the street been tampered with. Grows take up massive amounts of power, usually. Criminals bypass the normal supply to prevent big bills.
  • The smell can be a give away however the growers will go to extreme lengths to block the smells.
  • Heat, Cannabis grow houses are hot, in winter we have been able to spot a grow when snow has landed on roofs and one house has ether melted quickly or not been able to land at all due to the heat coming from the roof. High levels of Condensation can be clue.
  • Have you had some new tenants move in? have you seen a lot of odd equipment being moved in, potentially overnight? Does it sound like equipment is running day and night.
  • Are they the kind of people that just want to keep themselves to themselves but don’t go to work or make use of the garden?
  • Have windows been covered up or blocked off?
  • Are there a lot of fertiliser bottles on bin day but the neighbours never seem to do any gardening?

If any of this sounds familiar, please get in touch using the methods above and help us drive cannabis and organised crime from your area.
